Gate Street Partners opened in 1995 in Boston. Ed Heresniak (pronounce that as if the "a" isn't there), is the principal. The business relocated to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia in 2002. Dr. Heresniak spent a long career at IBM and held management assignments in development, planning and strategy. He also had the opportunity to learn from some terrific people along the way. After leaving IBM, Ed worked at Standard & Poors as CIO (the guy who handles all the technology stuff) and then spent two years at McGraw-Hill as the top technology executive and member of the management committee. He's worked as an advisor to MIT
research centers including the International Motor Vehicle Program, with big business like Time Warner
and with startups and small businesses. He coaches, adds advice, organization,
technical ideas Ed seeks opportunities where he can pass on what he's learned through coaching and where he can help sort out complex issues and ideas to see how things work and why. He listens, questions a lot and helps people focus and sometimes think in new ways. He can draw on years of experience to help you avoid things that don't work particularly well (ouch!) and to try things that do. Dr. Heresniak's academic background includes a BA in history and business administration, an MBA in management and a doctorate in finance and information systems.
