Gate Street Partners began in 1995 in Boston. Dr. Ed Heresniak (pronounce that as if the "a" isn't there), is the principal. The business relocated to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia in 2002 and began work in Shanghai, China in 2009.. Ed spent a long career at IBM and held management assignments in development, planning and strategy. He had the opportunity to learn from some terrific people and experience outstanding systems and processes along the way. After leaving IBM, Ed worked at Standard & Poors as CIO (the guy who handles all the technology stuff) and then spent two years at McGraw-Hill as the top technology executive and member of the management committee. He's worked as an advisor to MIT
research centers including the International Motor Vehicle Program and as the
Executive Director of two MIT Sloan School research programs: Inventing the
Organization of the 21st Century and The Center for Coordination Science.
As a business consultant, he's worked with big business like Time Warner
and with startups and small businesses. He coaches managers, gives solid
advice Ed seeks opportunities to pass on what he's learned and to help sort out complex issues and ideas to see how things work and why. He listens, questions a lot and helps people focus and think in new ways. He can draw on years of experience to help you avoid things that don't work particularly well (ouch!) and encourage you to try things that do. Dr. Heresniak's academic background includes a BA in history and business administration, an MBA in management and a doctorate in finance and information systems.
